Admission

IEMA focuses on executive students with a BSc and MSc in auditing who want to become licensed auditors. An MSc is a minimum requirement to become a Dutch Registeraccountant (RA) and to enter the programme.

To be eligible for admission to the IEMA Registeraccountant programme, candidates need to fulfil the following requirements:

  • Provide proof of a 3-year Bachelor of Science degree or a 4-year professional Bachelor’s degree;
  • Provide proof of a Master’s of Science degree;
  • Providing detailed course descriptions from all Bachelor and Master courses;
  • Provide proof of English language proficiency by having obtained:
  • a minimum score of 88 on a TOEFL Internet-Based language test (TOEFL IBT); or
  • a minimum score of 570 on a TOEFL Paper Based language test (TOEFL PBT); or
  • a minimum score of 6,5 on the academic and overall IELTS language test, with no section below 5,5; or
  • a minimum score of 720 on the TOEIC language test, with a pass for both the “Speaking and Writing” and “Listening and Reading” parts; or
  • a minimum grade of C on the Cambridge CPE English Proficiency Test; or
  • a minimum grade of B on the Cambridge CAE English Advanced Test;

Applicants who have completed their Bachelor and/or Master degree in English, or applicants from Anglosphere countries where the official language is English, may be exempted from this requirement, at the discretion of the Board of Admissions. A statement from the previous university that the degree was in English will be required. At the discretion of the  Board of Admissions, a satisfactory result from one of the accepted English tests might still be requested before a decision for admission will be taken.

  • Submit a recent Curriculum Vitae (CV); Audit experience – applicants should have an international orientation within auditing, by demonstrating that they work for an international audit firm, serve international audit clients or work in an international environment.
  • Submit the completed IEMA application form.

In case the Board of Admission needs additional information about the international orientation of a candidate (fit with the programme), part of the admission procedure is an interview with a member of the Board of Admissions. Students are selected based on their abilities, prior education, and international orientation in auditing.

Applicants will be advised of any bridging courses before starting the IEMA programme.
